Student Learner Outcome

Dreamers will explore academic and professional pathways across the global economy. In addition to learning about opportunities they can pursue, they will also complete assessments that will provide a deeper understanding of their preferences and interests. With this self-awareness, they will learn which academic pursuits and career paths align most accurately with their interests, providing them direction and guidance on paths they may want to take. Dreamers will learn about goal-setting and developing action plans to help them not only identify and articulate their dreams but also establish plans to realize them. In addition, they will learn how to get the most out of school, effective communication, including public speaking and interviewing, and about college – getting in, getting scholarships, and navigating the college experience. This multi-faceted approach is designed to ensure our Dreamers are fully equipped to navigate the complexities and challenges of the global marketplace.

Success Factors

  • Active participation in the Dream Academy
  • Tracking of academic progress via report cards, PSAT, SAT, ACT, and or ASVAB scores.
  • The number of in and out of School suspensions
  • Summer Jobs, internships, shadowing experiences, and or interactions with professional mentors
  • Award of high school diploma

Personal, Social & Cultural Awareness

Student Learner Outcome

Dreamers will develop awareness through meaningful exploration of personal, social, and cultural realities of self and society at large. They will learn through self-awareness exploration, understanding their individual interests and preferences, and will document their dreams and goals. They will be able to interpret and articulate not only their own experiences but also those of others. They will gain an understanding of civics, including the responsibilities and opportunities of citizens, and the impact they can have on local and national politics to drive positive change and understand and experience the value of community. Dreamers will gain knowledge and value from diverse perspectives and approaches, enhancing their emotional intelligence and social competencies. This enriched understanding fosters an environment of inclusivity and prepares them for collaborative interactions in both social and professional settings.

Student Learner Outcome

Dreamers will gain insights and an understanding of well-being encompassing key aspects of a well-balanced life. They will identify and actively engage in healthy cooking and eating habits, empowering them with the knowledge and skills to make informed nutritional choices. Dreamers will delve into stress management techniques – self-awareness, self-advocacy, and advocating for others – enabling them to incorporate coping mechanisms that enhance mental resilience. They will also gain insight and experience focused on the importance of healthy relationships, offering them the opportunity to explore and implement capacity for fostering meaningful interpersonal connections, managing tactful communication, and understanding and enforcing personal boundaries regarding respect for self and others. This overall focus on well-being equips our Dreamers with the comprehensive skill sets required for a balanced and fulfilling life.

Financial Prudence

Student Learner Outcome

Dreamers will gain a solid understanding of financial management, fostering an appreciation for responsible decision-making in fiscal matters. They will be introduced to essential personal finance concepts from budgeting to investing. Through practical exercises and real-world examples, Dreamers will gain valuable capability in managing, saving, and investing money responsibly. This hands-on approach enables them not just to comprehend but also apply these financial principles, equipping them with the tools and resources available to lead a financially stable and secure life. The skills acquired are indispensable, laying the foundation for long-term financial well-being.

Community Service

Student Learner Outcome

Dreamers embark on a comprehensive journey to effect meaningful change within their communities. They will learn how to identify needs in the community based on observation, research, and engagement. They will have the opportunity to drive change and impact a pressing issue affecting their community. Following this, they will gain the ability to establish and lead community service projects directly related to the issue they have chosen, ensuring their actions are both relevant and impactful.

Upon completion of the project, Dreamers will compile a written summary, augmented by visual aids, to present their findings. This summary will articulate the tangible impact of their initiatives, offering a clear illustration of how their actions have positively influenced the community. In doing so, they not only contribute to societal well-being but also gain essential skills in problem-solving, planning, leadership and effective communication.
